Decision to not let Marchosias join your cult in Woolhaven
Boss fights in Cult of the Lamb are a welcome change of pace to an otherwise relatively peaceful dungeon-crawling experience. After you defeat a boss, you have the option to take them into your cult, where you can look after them and assign them tasks. Expecting a new wolf follower after Marchosias' big fight in Woolhaven, I went to indoctrinate him.
After defeating Marchosias, he lay in the centre of the arena bruised and bloodied, and I found the choice to either indoctrinate him or straight up execute him. I tried to indoctrinate him, but it didn't work; Marchosias decided he'd rather rip himself in half than join my cult.
Massive Monster's art director, James Pearmain, says they wanted to make Marchosias "really against the religion" and "burned by religion." "Marchosias is into science and is burned by religion. He hates it and does everything he can to avoid it," Pearmain explains, and the decision not to let you indoctrinate him was important because it would have gone against his character.
