Businessinsider's reporter Joey Hadden upgraded to Delta Comfort on an October 2025 flight from Fort Myers, Florida, to New York City and found the $110 upgrade worth it; she paid $260 for the Delta Comfort ticket versus $150 for basic economy.

Hadden cited perks including early boarding (boarding zone 3), reserved overhead bin space, a slightly more cushioned seat with two extra inches of legroom (34-inch seat pitch), and earning more miles per dollar. She flew on a Boeing 737-800; according to Delta's website the aircraft has 160 seats, including 36 Delta Comfort seats. The seatback entertainment offered movies, TV, YouTube Music, and live TV, and she used a filter for films under two hours and watched "17 Again."

Being seated toward the front allowed her to deplane in less than five minutes after landing, which she called the final perk that sealed the deal, and she said she'll book Delta Comfort for future flights. Correction: January 27, 2026 — an earlier version of this story misstated the added cost of the upgrade; it was $110.
