Denise Vasi, the model, actress and influencer who lives mainly in Los Angeles, introduced Maed, a lip product line launched in 2024. She told The New York Times that her online profile helped her reach customers but also generated skepticism. Maed — a tweak of the word “made,” inspired by a recommendation site Vasi ran from 2018 to 2021 — is a concise collection that includes an exfoliator, a serum, clear and tinted balms and a highly pigmented liquid lipstick in a vivid crimson she has used since her acting days.

Products are priced from $26 to $36 and are available on the Maed and Sephora websites; select Sephora stores in the United States began carrying the line last month. Vasi said her decades of work with makeup artists and her mixed Dominican, Greek and Puerto Rican background influenced shade choices.

Makeup artist John Barnett, known professionally as Sir John, said Vasi’s focus on lip products was a strategically sound way to own a space in retail and praised her motives, adding that he met her more than a decade ago while she was a star of the VH1 series Single Ladies.
