Destiny Udogie’s Range Rover smashed after Spurs’ defeat to West Ham
Goal reports that Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie had his £150,000 Range Rover broken into after he returned to the vehicle following Spurs' 2-1 home defeat to West Ham at the weekend; Udogie was an unused substitute in that match. When he returned to his car he found the back window smashed and glass everywhere.
According to the Daily Mail, a clothes hanger and a carton of water were the only items left in the boot, and Udogie posted on social media: "Yeah, good night." The incident comes months after Udogie was allegedly threatened with a gun by a football agent. Police said they were called at 23.14hrs on Saturday, 6 September to reports a man in his 20s had been threatened with a firearm; officers were told another man in his 20s had allegedly been blackmailed and threatened by the same individual.
No injuries were reported. A 31-year-old man was arrested on Monday, 8 September on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent, blackmail and driving without a licence and has been bailed while enquiries continue; he has not been charged. Head coach Thomas Frank called it a "terrible situation" and said the club had done everything it could to support Udogie, adding "he's clearly doing well on the pitch." Udogie has had a difficult season, falling out of favour under Frank: he has played 15 times, with seven starts, and has been behind Djed Spence in selection.
