Diaz puts Morocco 1-0 up against Cameroon in AFCON quarter-final
Independent.co reports that Morocco lead Cameroon 1-0 in their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final after Brahim Diaz scored in the 26th minute.
Live updates say Diaz’s goal came from sustained pressure and was his fifth in five games, with Morocco pressing relentlessly while Cameroon have threatened through deliveries from deep and the presence of Bryan Mbeumo. Cameroon’s Tchamedeu was stretchered off and replaced by Dina Ebimbe, and captain Tolo was booked and will miss the semi-finals should his country advance.
Earlier, Senegal beat Mali 1-0 as Iliman Ndiaye capitalised on a goalkeeping error, setting up a semi-final against either Egypt or Ivory Coast. The Morocco v Cameroon match is ongoing and its final outcome is not yet known.
