Digital Sagrada app mirrors tabletop scoring and adds helpful UI features
The dice-drafting board game Sagrada has a digital version that preserves the tabletop scoring and presents game information on a single screen for players to see at a glance. Each player receives a private objective that awards points equal to the sum of the face values of all placed dice of one color, and all players score three public objectives that reward avoiding repeat colors or values in rows or columns, collecting specified pairs of values (1-2, 3-4, or 5-6), or placing same-color dice diagonally adjacent.
Players lose one point for each unfilled space on their grid. The app uses icons rather than text to represent end-game bonuses and the three tools available in each game, with full text descriptions accessible on Steam by hovering the cursor. Objective icons become easy to grasp after a few plays, though the tools’ icons are described as more arcane.
The interface includes a Color-Blind Mode with unique patterns, cute-but-functional animations, and a function that highlights legal plays while leaving the strategic choice of placement to the player. Play options include local pass-and-play, local play versus AI, and asynchronous online play.
The AI comes in three levels, with medium closer to “easy” and hard described as good but sometimes inconsistent. Online play was scant during Early Access testing, though the app supports private and public games and notifies you when it’s your turn.
