Disney+ Let the Muppets Cook and It’s Paying Off Big Time
The Muppet Show revival is currently number one on Disney+’s streaming charts and could lead to an ongoing series if the special proves popular. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, earning a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes; Ross Bonaime called it 'delightful.' Seth Rogen produced the revival.
His recent projects include the Hollywood satire The Studio and his adaptations of the comics series The Boys and Invincible for Prime Video. The special is a meta revival set in the familiar theater. Kermit the Frog (Matt Vogel) struggles to keep an overbooked show together while guest star Sabrina Carpenter ignites Miss Piggy's (Eric Jacobson) jealousy.
Carpenter appears in 'Pigs in Wigs,' a Bridgerton spoof with Pepe the Prawn (Bill Barretta), and an unplanned intrusion into a duet of 'Islands in the Stream.' Gonzo's latest stunt goes awry, Beaker becomes Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's unwitting test subject, and Maya Rudolph confronts death.
