Dolly Parton releases 50th‑anniversary version of 'Light of a Clear Blue Morning'
Nbc reports that Dolly Parton released a new recording of her 1977 song "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" featuring Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus, Lainey Wilson and Queen Latifah.
The re-recording was released on Friday, January 16 to mark the song's 50th anniversary — it was written and originally recorded in 1976 — and was issued alongside a music video. Net proceeds from the track and its accompanying video will benefit the pediatric cancer research program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.
Parton said in a statement that she wrote the song during "a season when I was searching for hope," and that the new version, released as she celebrates her 80th birthday on January 19, is her way of using what she has been blessed with to "shine a little light forward." The recording highlights each star's vocals with harmonies and a singalong crescendo; several collaborators have ties to The Voice, and Season 2 of McEntire’s sitcom Happy's Place is currently airing Fridays at 8/7c with episodes available the next day on Peacock.
