Movieweb reports that Dr. Emery Walsh (Tedra Millan) does not appear in The Pitt Season 2; viewers noticed her absence in the season premiere, Episode 1, "7:00 A.M."

The outlet says Walsh, a night‑shift surgeon introduced during the Pittfest shooting arc in Season 1, won’t play a significant role this season. Tedra Millan posted on Instagram, "Dr. Walsh isn't working this shift," and that statement has been taken to mean she will not appear across the season's 15 episodes. Fans on Reddit expressed disappointment and praise for the character, with one writing, "Really hoping she comes back with more screen time in season 2!" and another adding, "If she's not in S2, I'll be very happy to see her bickering with Abbott some more in a night shift season."

The series returned on January 9, 2025 on Max, and while Walsh’s absence in Season 2 is confirmed by Millan’s Instagram message, whether the character will return in a future season remains unknown.
