Dragon Age veteran Mark Darrah defends BioWare's Anthem experiment
Gamesradar reports former Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah, who spent more than two decades at BioWare, has defended the studio's attempt with Anthem as he reflected on the game's recent shutdown.
Anthem, an exosuit‑boasting looter shooter, was both a major departure for the developer and, the outlet says, "a big failure." In an interview with Destin Legarie, Darrah said many people would come "out of the woodwork" around launch to say things like, "'See, I told you so'" and "'BioWare should have never made Anthem because they are a single-player RPG maker.'"
Darrah made these remarks while reflecting on Anthem's shutdown; the interview focuses on those reflections and the reactions at launch rather than outlining any further actions or plans.
