Funcom says Chapter 3 for Dune: Awakening will deliver “A BIGGER, BETTER ENDGAME” and make it easier for lapsed players to return, the developer told fans in a Steam post and to GamesRadar+.

The studio says it combined player feedback with in‑game telemetry to shape the update, and acknowledges it “we're not going to please everyone” while still aiming to address long‑standing complaints about a hostile endgame, especially for solo players.

Chapter 3 will add more robust character progression and content options for players nearing completion. To help returning players, Funcom is abolishing the unpopular tax system and introducing resource “return packages” for accounts inactive 28 days or more.

A recent patch also finally lets players change servers without starting a new character, part of a series of quality‑of‑life fixes the developer has rolled out as it refines the game.

Funcom says the update delivers a richer endgame but that “our work is far from done,” and the studio has promised to share more details in due time about further changes and plans.
