DuRobo's Krono, a smartphone-sized ePaper Android tablet aimed at distraction-free reading, note-taking and productivity, is available for preorder at $280, with orders scheduled to ship in late January 2026.

The device ships after a successful Kickstarter campaign and is marketed by DuRobo as a 'focus hub,' a spokesperson recently said. The Krono uses a 6.1-inch Carta 1200 HD display at 300 ppi with color temperature adjustment, and is flanked by a rotating Smart Dial on the left and a wake button on the right. It weighs 6.13 ounces, offers 128GB of storage and a 3,950mAh battery, and includes features such as a Spark dictation workflow and a built-in AI assistant, Libby AI, which the company says can summarize text, provide news updates and respond to prompts similar to other AI assistants.

In ZDNET's testing with a prototype, the reviewer said the Krono replaced their Kindle while traveling and that the battery was efficient — after six days of nightly reading and note-taking at CES it used about a third of its capacity. ZDNET's buying advice recommends the Krono for professionals and readers seeking a mostly distraction-free, pocketable device; preorders are open and shipments are due at the end of January 2026.
