Elisabeth Moss to Star in Hulu Legal Drama Conviction

Hulu has ordered Conviction, a new legal drama that will star Elisabeth Moss as Neve Harper, a confident criminal defense attorney who lands a career-making case involving a husband accused of murdering his wife by setting their home on fire. Moss will executive produce the series alongside writer David Shore, Warren Littlefield and Bert Salke.

The show is the first major project to emerge from a development deal between author Jack Jordan and 20th Television and fits Hulu’s push for character-driven series featuring proven talent. The project is also David Shore’s first series greenlight under his 20th Television overall deal.

Shore, who wrote for The Good Doctor and House and previously practiced law, accelerated the series’ timeline by delivering a pilot script; when Hulu requested an outline for Episode 2, he submitted a full draft rather than notes. Jordan’s multiyear deal with 20th Television additionally includes adaptations of his novels Redemption and Deception.
