Emma Hayes joins Trinity Rodman’s 'Sexy Dexy' dance after USWNT win over Chile
United States Women’s National Team manager Emma Hayes joined Trinity Rodman in performing the viral 'Sexy Dexy' dance after Rodman scored in a midweek win over Chile.
The former Chelsea boss copied Rodman’s moves and drew laughter from her squad. Rodman had also scored at the weekend as the national team beat Paraguay 6-0 and had raced to the touchline to try to persuade Hayes to join a celebration, but Hayes initially refused.
Hayes explained after the game that Rodman had insisted she join: 'She said, ‘You are doing it tonight,’' Hayes said about Rodman’s push for a joint celebration. Hayes added she had been embarrassed: 'I was dying. I was dying. But listen, these players keep me young. I’m not complaining.'
Rodman said: 'I’m proud of myself. I told you guys I was going to do it and I did it. I’m just really happy and happy that Emma was confident enough to do it with me.' The joint celebration prompted applause and laughter from those on the bench and the fans in the stands.
Hayes said the camp has provided 'reference points' as she begins planning for the 2027 World Cup, adding: 'This has certainly opened up the year with what we’ve identified as the key themes to take us through to (World Cup) qualification.' She also praised the squad’s maturity across both games.
