Emre's simple kit makes him the standout of Overwatch's new heroes
Overwatch's Reign of Talon season brings a major update: a UI overhaul, a competitive reset, and five new heroes. I tried each of them, and while Jetpack Cat's wackiness is fun, Emre is currently my favourite. Emre has already made an impression as the first male DPS added since launch—Doomfist aside, who was reclassified after his addition.
His kit is refreshingly straightforward: a semi-automatic Siphon Blaster as an off-hand weapon, mobility that nearly matches Soldier 76's ability, and a Cyber Frag that can swing team fights, especially with the level 2 Cyber Adhesion perk that lets it stick to enemies or surroundings for an extra 40 damage.
The real highlight is his Burst rifle. It brings to mind the Halo BR55 battle rifle, but with its own pacing: rather than one-shotting like some Call of Duty burst weapons, Emre's bursts take about three rounds to kill a DPS or Support—more like stripping a shield then landing a headshot.
