Sandfall Interactive, the studio behind the RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, received honors from France’s Ministry of Culture and shared images of the team wearing medallions. A photo from the event also showed a team member in a red beret and a striped black shirt.

The developer posted the images on LinkedIn showing medallions identifying the group as members of the Ordre de Saint-Michel (Order of Saint Michael). The studio’s post described the honor as the Order of Arts and Letters. Sandfall was recognized as Knights of the Order, which comes with an eight-pointed silver medallion.

To be considered for the distinction, recipients must have "significantly contributed to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance," and be at least 30 years old. About 200 people a year are knighted; Sandfall — a team of around 30 people — received roughly 15 percent of that yearly total.
