Fable reboot removes morality-based character appearance changes
Gamesradar reports the Fable reboot will not change a character's appearance based on morality, a departure that has divided fans.
You will not grow devil horns after attacking innocents or spawn an angelic halo for good deeds. Playground Games' general manager and founder Ralph Fulton told IGN the feature was removed because "there is no objective good and evil," adding that the new Albion contains "lots of murky gray areas" and includes a reputation system that affects how individual settlements see you. "Now, you couldn't do that if you walked in with horns and a trident," he added.
Some fans disagree with the decision: "It was such a key point to the original games, they made it the box art to sell that was what the game was, your character changing along with your choices," one commenter said, calling it a "huge miss" and arguing the mechanic helped set Fable apart. Fans remain divided about the feature's absence.
