Faces of Death reboot unveils grisly first trailer, heads to US theaters April 10
Controversial cult horror Faces of Death has released its first trailer for the long-delayed reboot, a 55-second teaser that GamesRadar says is predictably morbid and genuinely disturbing.
The promo crams several graphic demises into black-and-white clips — a man mauled by a bear, a beheading and someone run over by a train — which pull back to form a skull as the frame shifts.
While the teaser doesn’t show the leads, Stranger Things' Dacre Montgomery and Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira are set to star. The supporting cast listed by GamesRadar includes Sarah Voigt, Tadasay Young, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday, Jermaine Fowler and Charli XCX.
Director Daniel Goldhaber and co-writer Ira Mazzei said they view the original Faces of Death as a jumping-off point for “this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online,” per GamesRadar. The original film focused on pathologist Francis B. Gröss compiling footage of multiple people meeting gruesome ends.
Faces of Death is scheduled to release in US theaters on April 10, arriving six years after it was filmed.
