'Faces of Death' Remake Sets Release Date
IFC and Shudder will release the Faces of Death remake in theaters on April 10, 2026. The new film was shot in 2023 and completed post-production before being scheduled for the wide theatrical rollout.
The remake follows a content moderator, played by Barbie Ferreira, who investigates whether violent videos inspired by the 1978 original are real or staged, continuing the original film's "Is it real or not?" conceit. The cast also includes Dacre Montgomery, Aaron Holliday, and Charli XCX. Daniel Goldhaber directed and co-wrote the film with Isa Mazzei; it follows Goldhaber’s previous film How to Blow Up a Pipeline.
A teaser trailer was removed from YouTube for violating content guidelines, underscoring the film’s intense violent material that may limit some audiences. IFC describes the release as its widest to date, though an exact theater count has not yet been provided.
