Fallout creators say Bethesda's later games aren't what they'd have done
Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, the original creators of Fallout, told Game Informer's wide-ranging interview that Bethesda's take on the franchise isn't quite the direction they would have chosen. The discussion covered many people involved with Fallout, including the current TV adaptation and recent games.
Cain summed up his view simply: "I like what [Bethesda] has done." He added, "it's not what I would have done. I know Leonard and I especially, we talk about these things a lot. We would have gone in a different direction, but obviously, sales say people love what they did, and I'm looking at my glass cabinet full of Fallout goodies, some of which are from 1 and 2, and some of which are from 3 and 4.
