Fallout season 2 reveals two Robert Houses, Rafi Silver explains
Polygon reports that in "The Wrangler," episode 5 of Fallout season 2, Rafi Silver says the series reveals there are technically two Robert Houses: Justin Theroux’s House remains secure in his penthouse above the Lucky 38 Casino, while Silver portrays a public-facing double.
Silver, who first played Mr. House in a season 1 flashback, said he learned the twist from co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet. He described his character as an actor playing the role of House — likening the part to Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) rather than the reclusive billionaire — and quoted a line saying he is "a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude," a nod to Tropic Thunder, which Theroux co-wrote. Silver also said he and Theroux talked about the character and that filming alongside Theroux and Goggins let him study their performances to shape his portrayal.
Silver said he has considered a backstory for the faux House but is keeping it private to avoid making it canon; he described his head-canon as "very specific" and hopes the character’s true identity may be revealed one day. New episodes of Fallout release Wednesdays on Prime Video.
