Family searches for 20-year-old last seen near MetLife Stadium
People reports that Emilio Acosta, 20, of Weehawken, N.J., was last seen leaving his home on Dec. 18, 2025, and his family says they are "desperate" to locate him; surveillance footage showed him walking toward MetLife Stadium. According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), Acosta's parents said they woke around 1:30 a.m.
to find him taking two backpacks from a closet and running out of the house, and his father drove around the area but could not find him. NamUs describes his last-seen clothing as a beige hooded sweatshirt with navy-blue Yankee lettering, grey sweatpants, black Timberland boots and two backpacks, one with a black ski helmet attached.
The family told News 12 that Acosta has bipolar disorder and may have had a mental health episode and did not have his medication with him. Weehawken Police Deputy Chief James told NJ.com on Jan. 6 that searches have been unsuccessful. Surveillance reportedly showed Acosta near a Weehawken elementary school, at a Shell station in Secaucus and then walking toward MetLife Stadium, and his cell phone last pinged near the stadium.
