Fans of the current run of The Traitors have suggested many of the castle contestants may be secretly related or partnered, after two covert relationships emerged and viewers spotted a framed family tree in the Ardross Castle lobby. Two links have already been revealed on screen: Judy was shown to be the mother of Faithful Roxy, and psychologist Ellie confessed that Ross was her boyfriend.

Sofa sleuths point to the family-tree prop, which had been daubed with red fingerprints by the Traitors, and note a Latin inscription beneath it that the piece translates as: “Beware whom you trust as your own blood. The sharpest knives are often handed over the table by trusted servants.

Among close friends lurk the most hidden enemies. Beware lest your trust become the cause of your ruin and destruction.” There have also been recurring cutaways to a 1934 copy of Who’s Who? in the castle library, which some viewers read as a biographical clue. Viewers have floated a number of theories: that Reece might be the son of Fiona or Amanda (the source notes Reece is 27, Amanda 57 and Fiona 62), that Jessie and Jack are secretly dating after Jessie whispered “Love you!” during a cage mission and Jack later said “I couldn’t have been more proud of her,” and that young contestant Faraaz could be related to Maz.
