According to Nbc, Sergeant Fin Tutuola (Ice T) is back in the squad room on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27, but his presence is currently limited to a part-time return.

Fin's comeback follows an attack in the Season 27 premiere that left him hospitalized and completing physical therapy; he later told Benson he needed extra time to be mentally ready before returning. He reappeared in the episode "Fidelis ad Mortem," when the unit reopened a 27-year-old cold case centered on an abandoned cassette tape. The detectives traced the tape to an FBI-seized building and uncovered that informant Tameka had been assaulted by a corrupt cop; the inquiry led to D.A. Investigator Leo Eichmeyer. Fin secured testimony and a recording from a convict called Gibbs, the evidence helped convict Leo on all counts, and A.D.A. Sonny Carisi said, "Gibbs did good, but Fin, I gotta tell you, man: it's great to have you back."

Benson made clear Fin is not back full-time and described the appearance as a "one-off," while Fin himself told the squad, "It's part-time for now," later joking about "Still making my way through GTA: 5." Beyond that part-time status, the show's future plans for his role were not detailed in the report.
