Nbc reports that 23-year-old Finn Wolfhard will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on January 17.

Best known as one of the stars of Stranger Things, which he began at age 12, Wolfhard’s résumé spans television, film, voice work, directing and music. His early TV work included single episodes of The 100 (2014) and Supernatural (2015); film roles include Richie Tozier in It (2017) and a brief reprise in It Chapter Two (2019), The Goldfinch (2019), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), and a voice role in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (2022). He co-wrote and co-directed the 2023 horror film Hell of a Summer and has done voice acting for animated series such as Smiling Friends, Duncanville and Carmen Sandiego.

Wolfhard also has several links to SNL: he is the first of the Stranger Things kids to host, is friends with former cast member Fred Armisen, played a younger version of a character whose adult was played by Bill Hader in It Chapter Two, appeared as a network page in the 2024 SNL-inspired movie Saturday Night, and was named in Jane Wickline’s December 13 “Weekend Update” song. Musically, he led bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys, released a solo debut album in June 2025, and directed a stop-motion video released in December for the 50th anniversary of George Harrison’s “Give Me Love.” The January 17 episode will feature musical guest A$AP Rocky; further episode details were not specified in the report.
