Forza Horizon 6 Premium costs $120; Game Pass early-access upgrade is $60
Kotaku reported that during Xbox’s January 22 Developer Direct, Playground Games revealed Forza Horizon 6’s May 19 release date and opened pre-orders, with the game’s Premium Edition priced at $120 and offering four days of early access; Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who want that early access must pay a $60 upgrade.
The $120 Premium package is $20 more than Horizon 5’s $100 Premium edition, and the $60 upgrade is $10 higher than the previous $50 upgrade price for Game Pass Ultimate members. The increase partly reflects Horizon 6’s $70 base price versus Horizon 5’s $60, and the Premium edition also includes an extra car pack compared to Horizon 5.
The report criticized the practice as an "early access tax," saying players are effectively barred from playing unless they pay extra even though the game will have completed standard checks; pre-orders are live, Premium owners get access on May 15, the full launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC is May 19, and the game will arrive on PS5 later this year.
