Five unions representing Ubisoft employees in France have called for a "massive international strike by all Ubisoft employees," urging a three-day walkout in February in response to the company’s recent restructuring, return-to-office mandate and layoffs.

The overhaul announced last week cancels six games in development, including the repeatedly delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, imposes multiple delays and the closure of "several studios," and triggered a Rupture Conventionnelle Collective to cut about 200 roles at Ubisoft’s Paris HQ. The announcement also renewed complaints and discussion about AI.

Solidaires Informatique initially called a half-day strike at Ubisoft Paris as an "initial response to the absurdity of management decisions," and has joined four other unions—CFE-CGC, CGT, Printemps écologique and Le Syndicat des Travailleureuses du Jeu Vidéo—in the company-wide action.

The unions said the walkout is planned for February 10–13, which will coincide with Ubisoft’s first quarterly financial report since the restructuring on February 12. PC Gamer noted that participation outside France could be riskier, as many international studios lack strong union protections.

It remains unclear how Ubisoft’s international studios will respond. PC Gamer has reached out to Solidaires Informatique and Ubisoft Toronto for comment and said it will update if it receives a reply.
