Friends fear for 'devastated' Savannah Guthrie after plea to mother's captor
Friends say Savannah Guthrie appears shaken two weeks into the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, after the anchor posted a tearful Instagram plea to her mother’s captor. One friend called the footage "profoundly disturbing," adding, "She looks devastated. She looks like she’s struggling.
She can’t be doing well." Another friend said, "it looked like the light has gone out of her eyes." In the clip the NBC personality said, "I wanted to say to whoever has her, or who knows where she is, that, it’s never too late. And you’re not lost, or alone, and it is never too late to do the right thing." Colleagues sent support in the comments, with Hoda Kotb writing, "We believe 🙏 ❤️," Morgan Radford adding, "we are all with you, Savannah.
❤️," and Dylan Dreyer saying, "I continue to pray every chance I get…I love you 🙏." Several members of her "Today" show family also re-posted the plea. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31 and reported missing the following day after vanishing from her Tucson, Ariz., home.
