Friends share intimate photos of James Van Der Beek's final days

Friends and close colleagues shared intimate photos of James Van Der Beek’s final days before his death on Feb. 11. Former WWE star Stacy Keibler posted an image showing the Dawson’s Creek star in a wheelchair, appearing frail as the two watched a sunset. Keibler wrote that spending those days with him was a true gift, saying it taught her to be present.

She praised him as an incredible husband to Kimberly Van Der Beek and an extraordinary dad to their six children: Olivia, 14; Joshua, 13; Annabel, 11; Emilia, 8; Gwendolyn, 6; and Jeremiah, 3. Designer Erin Fetherston shared photos of James in bed while she held his hand, calling it an honor to be his friend and promising to look after Kimberly and the children.

Alfonso Ribeiro said he was with James through the horrible journey to beat cancer and noted he is godfather to one of the daughters, a role he will always hold dear. Kimberly announced that James died after a years-long colorectal cancer battle.
