Pcgamer reports that From the Top, a top-battling roguelike inspired by Beyblade, released last month on Steam. In the game you play as the captive of a top-obsessed tyrant who forces perpetual battles between whirling, bladed tops.

Runs begin by choosing an initial loadout of battle tops and navigating a Slay the Spire-like path with opportunities to upgrade, repair, and fuse parts. Each top has three components that affect movement, collision force, and spin stamina, plus an active ability; the article describes combinations such as a heavy driver that stayed centered while firing clones and a top that briefly became intangible before emitting a kinetic pulse.

Opponents can be similarly threatening, with examples including an early boss that drains stamina on impact and creates a vacuum, and an enemy type with floaty bases and dash abilities that let them re-enter the arena. From the Top is priced at $4, and the report says it released last month but "nearly nobody noticed."
