Gate Founder Dr. Lin Han: AI Will Transform Trading in Two Years

Gate has grown from a one-person project founded by Dr. Lin Han in 2013 into one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, serving over 49 million users, employing more than 2,000 people, and listing north of 5,000 tokens while offering a suite of traditional financial products.

Dr. Lin credits a product-first approach for that expansion, arguing that high quality and broad asset coverage mattered early on when Gate aggressively listed altcoins. The next phase, he says, will come from regulated markets: the platform now holds licenses across 80 jurisdictions, including 44 US states and coverage in more than 20 European countries under MiCA, along with approvals in Dubai, Japan and Australia, and is aiming to grow its user base in those regulated areas.
