Girl sends handwritten apology to New Haven police after accidental 911 call
According to People, a young Connecticut girl named Lilly sent a handwritten apology to the New Haven Police Department after wrongfully calling 911 while playing with a phone on Dec. 21.
In a note written with a magenta marker on white paper she wrote, "Sorry for calling 9-1-1." Lilly added that she "[thought] it was a play phone" and wrote, "I won't do it again." The NHPD shared the letter in a Facebook post on Thursday, Jan. 6, saying, "Lilly, We got your letter," and, "It’s ok. Things happen ..."
In the post's comments, Facebook users recalled their own childhood misdials and praised Lilly for understanding why 911 is not a toy. The NHPD could not be reached.
