Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle winter update arrives Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. PT

Polygon reports the free Toxic Tangle winter update for Grounded 2 will go live Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. PT for Xbox and PC.

That timing corresponds to 1 p.m. EST, 3 p.m. BRT, 6 p.m. GMT and 7 p.m. CET on Jan. 27, and to 3 a.m. JST and 5 a.m. AEDT on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Players who participated in the Public Beta Test should note that progress from the beta will not carry over when the update launches.

The update is the biggest set of changes since Obsidian launched the game in early access in July 2025, adding a new Garden region centered on a giant greenhouse, more vertical puzzle-solving and exploration, several new and returning bugs with associated gear (for example, daggers from earwig parts and armor from potato bug bits), pumpkins for resource gathering, mushroom chunks for base building, and a new buggy called the Ladybuggy that requires hunting a ladybug egg and facing steep challenges.
