Group SNE to adapt Elden Ring Nightreign into TTRPG, due spring 2026
Group SNE announced on Jan. 26 that it is adapting FromSoftware’s Elden Ring: Nightreign into a tabletop role‑playing game, with the release slated for sometime this spring, Polygon reported.
Polygon noted Group SNE’s pedigree: the studio created Sword World RPG, which was so popular in Japan it nearly displaced Dungeons & Dragons there, and it previously handled a Japanese adaptation of the Dark Souls TTRPG (distinct from Steamforged Games’ Kickstarter project).
The outlet also pointed to Group SNE’s history with high‑fantasy properties, including work on the Record of Lodoss War franchise, which has sold millions of copies across novels and manga.
There’s little information yet on how Nightreign will play as a tabletop game. Polygon said social media reactions were baffled but excited, and the article praised Nightreign and its Forsaken Hollows DLC as strong parts of the source material.
For Japanese readers, Polygon reported a sneak peek of the TTRPG and its mechanics appears in the 20th issue of GM Warlock magazine, on sale Jan. 29; whether there will be an English translation or further details ahead of the spring 2026 release remains unclear.
