Movieweb reports James Gunn has debunked fan casting rumors that Batman and Wonder Woman will appear in Man of Tomorrow. Responding to a fan on Threads via Home of DCU on X, Gunn said, "All those rumors of Batman and Wonder Woman auditions are false." When another fan asked specifically about Wonder Woman, Gunn added, "No.

We are currently casting a female character in [Man of Tomorrow]. My only guess is scopers are taking a stab at guessing [Wonder Woman]." The speculation followed the casting announcement that Lars Eidinger would play the central villain Brainiac and stems from Superman's inclusion of characters such as Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner, and Hawkgirl.

Batman and Wonder Woman are part of DC's Trinity and have separate DCU projects: Wonder Woman is set for a rebooted solo film with Ana Nogueira penning the script, while the DCU Batman film The Brave and the Bold will feature him and his son Damian Wayne and has faced delays. Gunn has also voiced concern about DCU Batman casting news overshadowing Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II, which is set for release in October 2027, and the report says that likely means the DCU Batman would debut by at least 2028, though fans hope for a potential tease in this year's Clayface.
