Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant to Leave Netflix in Early March
Guy Ritchie’s 123-minute war thriller The Covenant is scheduled to leave Netflix (U.S.) on March 5, 2026, only months after it arrived. The film stumbled at the box office but found a second life on streaming, becoming a December 2025 word-of-mouth favorite. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Sgt.
John Kinley, whose unit is ambushed in Afghanistan and who is dragged roughly 100 miles to safety by his interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After Kinley returns home he learns Ahmed and his family are being hunted by the Taliban, and he chooses to go back to repay the debt the hard way.
The Covenant grossed about $21.9 million worldwide against a reported $55 million budget, and its release path varied by country, leaning into streaming in many markets while the U.S. gave it a wide theatrical run that collided with Evil Dead Rise and The Super Mario Bros.
