Goal reports Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton at the Etihad on Wednesday, extending City's run of Premier League draws to three.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Jeremy Doku was fouled in the box, ending the striker's three-game drought, but Kaoru Mitoma curled Brighton's equaliser into the far corner. City dominated possession and created numerous opportunities; Bernardo Silva missed a gilt-edged chance and substitute Rayan Cherki later set up a late chance that Haaland struck straight at the goalkeeper.

Phil Foden was said to have had a minimal influence and was withdrawn with around 20 minutes remaining, while Doku was highlighted as one of City's best performers. The match ratings suggested Pep Guardiola "perhaps tinkered too much" with his side, and the report added that City's hopes of reclaiming the title took another significant hit as they were not moved within three points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
