Habib Beye named Marseille manager after De Zerbi exit
Olympique de Marseille have appointed Habib Beye as their new manager, replacing Roberto De Zerbi. Beye, who spent two years at the club as a player, has signed a contract running until the summer of 2027 and has been tasked with halting Marseille's slide. De Zerbi left by mutual consent following Marseille's 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
Beye, a former Senegal international, agreed a one-and-a-half-year deal after being dismissed by Rennes days earlier. The club highlighted Beye's transition from combative player to coach, recalling his time at Red Star where he imposed discipline, intensity and ambition and led the team into Ligue 2.
The statement underlined a management style built on high standards, player accountability and the leadership, hard work and passion he displayed on the pitch.
