Happy's Place Season 2 returns Feb 27 after Olympic Winter Games hiatus
Season 2 of Happy's Place is heading into a brief three-week hiatus and will return with new episodes on Friday, February 27, at 8/7c on NBC. The sitcom airs Fridays at 8/7c on NBC and is available the next day on Peacock. NBC is temporarily replacing the series with coverage of the Olympic Winter Games during the hiatus, and Peacock is being promoted as the place to stream and marathon past episodes.
The show follows Bobbie (Reba McEntire) and her tavern crew in Knoxville, including romantic storylines with chef Emmett (Rex Linn) and a rotating lineup of guest stars such as Christopher Lloyd, Cheri Oteri and Carol Kane. Oteri told NBC Insider the set felt supportive and warm: "I sound so corny, but I tell people [that set] is literally the happiest place...
[The Happy's Place cast are] the nicest people in the world... walking onto that set is like you’re just walking into a big hug." Season 2 has leaned into both comedy and drama. In Episode 9, "Silence Was Golden," Emmett revealed troubling secrets about Bobbie’s father during their three-month anniversary dinner, leaving Bobbie hurt and asking for space; the next day she told Emmett they could only be friends for the time being, leaving him heartbroken.
McEntire called the season a "good emotional rollercoaster," saying, "You’ll just laugh, and then the next scene, it’s like, 'Oh my gosh, my heart’s been torn out.'" The show returns on Feb.
