Collider reports that bestselling crime author Harlan Coben is expanding into true crime with a new series, Final Twist, and that he spoke about the project ahead of the series' debut.

Coben said, "I was actually really thinking lately more about how truth is stranger than fiction," arguing the real cases in Final Twist go beyond what fiction could plausibly include. He said he teamed with documentary filmmaker Jeff Zimbalist, described the show as documentary in style that gives agency to victims and aims to respect those affected while showing how the justice system works, and called being the face of the show "really strange" and that "I’m still trying to figure out how much I enjoy it or not."

Coben named Six Years and The Boy From the Woods as the novels he’s most anxious to adapt next and said he would like to update Lawrence Block’s Matthew Scudder. He also noted Run Away has been released and said, "I know it’s number 1 there in the U.K. and in the U.S." Starting Tuesday, January 13, Final Twist will air on Tuesdays at 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS.
