Harry Kane penalty sends Bayern into DFB-Pokal semi-finals — Goal

Leipzig thought they had the opener inside the first five minutes when Yan Diomande cut in from the right, jinked past three challenges and found Christoph Baumgartner, who finished smoothly, only for a VAR check to rule him offside. Before the 20-minute mark Harry Kane had his first big chance, seeing a 12-yard effort cleared off the line, and then having a back-post header inadvertently blocked by teammate Aleksandar Pavlovic, while Luis Diaz later slammed an effort over the bar.

Baumgartner nearly created a late first-half chance by finding David Raum, but his powerful strike was well saved by Manuel Neuer, and Marten Vandervoort produced two exceptional saves to keep Leipzig level. Just after the hour mark Vandervoort’s dangling leg brought down Josip Stanisic, and Kane stepped up to convert from 12 yards.
