Henry Cavill to Star in and Executive Produce Warhammer 40K Series for Amazon

Movieweb reports Henry Cavill will star in and serve as an executive producer on an Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Warhammer 40K, part of a broader partnership with Games Workshop.

Warhammer 40K is described as a sprawling, far-future science-fiction universe defined by endless conflict, fanatical religious zeal, and decayed knowledge, supported by decades of dense lore and multimedia titles from tabletop games to novels and video games. In an official announcement, as per Gamespot, Cavill said: "Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life… To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavor to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen."

The Amazon arrangement is said to give Games Workshop direct oversight and the budget needed for a large-scale production, but many details remain unconfirmed: no single faction, character, or timeline has been outlined, and the series is described as likely to come out post-2027.
