HGTV cancels 'Rehab Addict' after Nicole Curtis uses racial slur
HGTV has canceled 'Rehab Addict' after leaked footage showed star Nicole Curtis using the N-word while working on a renovation project. On Wednesday RadarOnline published the footage; in it Curtis appears shocked at her own words, asks a man off-camera to "kill that" and says, "Oh, f–k my life." The network said the offensive comment "does not align" with its values and removed the series from all HGTV platforms, adding it remains dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across its content and workplace.
Curtis apologized to TMZ: "I want to be clear: the word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone." She said she was grateful for the "15-year journey" with the network and that her focus was on relationships and community.
New episodes that were scheduled to begin Feb. 11 were canceled, and "Rehab Addict" has been removed from HBO Max and Discovery+.
