Employees at the Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center say they found a hidden camera inside a staff-only bathroom stall in November 2025, and police now have a suspect in custody.

Registered nurse Tyesha Sullivan, who works in the emergency room, first noticed the device in the back of a stall and initially did not know what it was, she told CBS LA. The staff bathroom where the camera was found requires a key card to enter.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a suspect was arrested in November and said the Special Assaults Section is handling the investigation; the suspect’s identity and other details have been withheld, an LAPD spokesperson told PEOPLE.

CBS LA reports the person has been formally charged by the LA City Attorney, but it is not clear what charge the suspect faces. Kaiser Permanente said it immediately reported the incident to the LAPD and that an employee identified as a person of interest was arrested and is no longer employed by Kaiser Permanente; Kaiser did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Jody Russell of the security firm Ambient.AI told CBS LA that anyone who thinks they are being recorded should notify authorities and check for obvious signs like "blinking lights." The investigation remains under the LAPD Special Assaults Section, and officials have not disclosed the suspect’s identity or the specific charges.
