Kotaku reports that Hideki Konno, a longtime Nintendo developer who worked on games ranging from Sim City for the SNES to Mario Kart 8, left the company last summer.

Game*Spark said Konno signalled the departure at the time with a Facebook status update, but fans have only been noticing this month. Ex-Nintendo veteran Takaya Imamura wrote on X, “Talk of Konno-san’s resignation is starting to buzz… The people who shaped an era are leaving Nintendo one by one…”

Beyond the Facebook update and social posts, further details about Konno’s exit have not been reported.
