Wildlight Entertainment released Highguard patch 1.0.4 on Jan. 29, 2026, aiming to address player complaints that emerged after the game's Jan. 26 launch. The update adds FoV sliders for consoles, a Crouch Hold/Toggle option for all platforms, and an Aim Down Sights Hold/Toggle option for PC only.

The patch notes warn that toggling into ADS then tapping Sprint can swap scopes on controller and recommend PC players rebind scope swap; Wildlight said it will continue to look into a solution for consoles. Video and graphics options were expanded: console FoV can now reach 110; low scalability settings for shadows and reflections were tuned for more performance and low shadows now disable volumetric fog.

A new "View Distance Quality" setting controls skeletal mesh LODs, and players can toggle Anisotropic Materials, Chromatic Aberration and Bloom on or off. Motion Blur and Depth of Field still need more testing before safe disable, DLSS users can choose a DLSS preset, and players can set Global Illumination to Off.

The patch resolved several crash and matchmaking issues, including crashes when leaving a match on PS5 with an unexpected input state and when loading into matches on machines with slower storage. Friend status and Xbox presence updates were fixed, and Wildlight said major crash fixes have reduced crashes by about 90%.
