Highguard Episode 2 adds shapeshifting hero Ekon, wolf mount and Gear Up fixes

Gamesradar reports Wildlight's Episode 2 update, due tomorrow, February 6, will add the game's first new Warden, the shapeshifting monster-slayer Ekon, who can turn into a direwolf and uses a Dread ability that reveals the heartbeats of wounded enemies. The patch notes also say all players will receive the wolf mount for free when the update goes live.

Wildlight is adjusting the Gear Up phase after internal playtests showed developers tended to gravitate toward loot-filled points of interest and early fights, while many players instead harvest and rely on the shop as their primary means of gearing up. To address that, the studio is increasing the quality of loot found at Points of Interest and adding waypoint markers and map updates to better emphasize where players should go during Gear Up.

The update also includes a new map and a 3v3-only ranked mode, and the official patch notes list a longer set of granular quality-of-life changes and other adjustments coming with the release.
