Kotaku reports that Highguard, a new FPS from some ex-Titanfall developers, launched on January 26 for PC and consoles and many players are encountering server queues, disconnects and performance problems.

Developers described the game in a Monday deep dive as a 3v3 PvP "raid shooter" that blends Rainbow Six Siege–style base defence, MOBA-like team clashes, gear upgrades and a final raid to decide matches. Early impressions and a preview were generally positive, but the writer said the game was not running well on an RTX 5070 PC even at medium settings with DLSS, and other players report poor performance, settings that won’t change, missing tutorial dialogue, a lack of an FOV slider on PS5 and blurry console visuals.

SteamDB data showed nearly 98,000 players tried to play on Steam, and the article suggested servers are likely struggling to keep up with demand, leaving many stuck in queues or disconnected. The developers have confirmed roughly a year of content is in development and regular live‑service updates, but it remains to be seen how quickly technical issues will be fixed and whether the game will sustain its player base.
