Highguard launch showcase set for Monday; thumbnail confirms Jan. 26 release
Polygon reports that Wildlight Studios has uploaded an "Highguard | Official Launch Showcase" video to the game's official YouTube account, though the video is not yet available for viewing.
Highguard is a free-to-play PVP shooter from former Respawn developers that was revealed at the close of The Game Awards; the studio has been largely silent since the December announcement. The uploaded video is scheduled to go live on Monday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, and the thumbnail confirms the game is still set to arrive on Jan. 26. The video's description says it will feature "a full gameplay deep dive, year one plans, and much more," and up to this point the only public footage has been a two-and-a-half-minute trailer.
The upload and confirmed release date indicate the game has not been delayed; Highguard is due Jan. 26 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Specific details from the showcase remain unknown until the video goes live.
