MovieWeb reported Feb. 1, 2026 that set-leakers in London captured footage of Henry Cavill filming the Highlander reboot near Tower Bridge alongside Jeremy Irons, following Cavill’s first-look image last week.

The clips and images show Cavill as Connor MacLeod riding a motorbike and standing in the rain with Irons; MovieWeb says Irons is set to play the leader of a shadowy secret order called The Watchers.

Chad Stahelski is directing the reboot. MovieWeb lists a large ensemble including Russell Crowe as Juan Sánchez‑Villalobos Ramírez, Dave Bautista as The Kurgan, and Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Drew McIntyre, Max Zhang, Siobhan Cullen, Jeon Jong‑seo and Kevin McKidd.

MovieWeb also published the film’s synopsis, saying centuries after his first death on a Scottish battlefield the immortal Connor MacLeod lives in the modern world and is forced back into the Game when the ruthless Kurgan resurfaces and a secret organisation seeks the secret of eternal life.

The report notes production was delayed when Cavill was sidelined after being injured while training for the role, but that filming now appears to be in full swing.

MovieWeb adds that with filming underway it "seems likely that a 2027 release day could still be on the cards," though the timeline remains tentative.
